New Member Information / Application
Dear
Prospective Member,
We
would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in
our group. Here is a brief
summary of what we hope will pique your interest.
The
1st New Mexico Volunteer Infantry is an authentically minded,
family oriented and historically based reenacting group. We portray a
Federal unit that was formed and recruited from throughout the Rio
Grande valley by the famous mountain man, explorer and scout, Kit
Carson, to defend the Union from the threat of invading Texans.
We
currently have over 30 members - men, women and children - all of whom
portray a variety of authentic impressions. Although primarily an
Infantry group, our member’s impressions include Ordnance,
Quartermaster, US Sanitary Commission, The First New Mexico Field Music,
Medical, an ordained Minister, La Sociedad de la Entrada and the
Lanceros del Presidio. Most importantly, we love to have fun!
Annual
membership dues (as of 2002) in the 1st NM are $15
for individuals and $20 for families.
You can mail your dues directly to:
